Ethiopia seeks better trade relations with Nigeria

Ethiopian representative to Nigeria has raised concerns about the low level of trade between Nigeria and the east African country.

Alemu Ayele in a chat with TVC News says governments of the two countries must work hard to improve their trade relations.

Ethiopia is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and Africa's second most populous country.

It's major source of foreign earnings is from agriculture and it accounts for about 45.03% of the country's GDP.

This is why the current government is making the sector more attractive to investors.

Nigeria and Ethiopia share a lot in common; but trade between the two countries has remained significantly low.

Ethiopia has had decades of steady economic growth but this has not reduced the level of poverty in the country.

This is why the government must nurture the private sector to increase job creation.
