EFCC: Former Sokoto Governor, Attahiru Bafarawa Has Been Arrested

Former Sokoto State Governor, Attahiru Bafarawa, has been picked up by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He is being questioned for his alleged role in transferring money from the office of the National Security Adviser, between December 2014 and May 2015.

This is coming just as the former Minister of State for Finance, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda, is spending his second day with the EFCC.

Ambassador Yuguda is being quizzed for allegedly receiving suspicious payments from the office of the former NSA. The former NSA is being investigated over two billion dollar arms deal.

Some of the monies allegedly traced to Ambassador Yuguda include 1.2 billion naira paid to him for unclear reasons.

He is alleged to have also received 775 million naira from the office of the Accountant General and another 1.275 billion naira from Stallion Group.

Furthermore, on 4th August,2014, 54 Nigerian soldiers were accused and arrested for mutiny when they were protesting over non-availability of enough and modern weapons to fight Boko Haram insurgency.

Also on 17th December, 2014, these soldiers were sentenced to death by the military tribunal set up to try them. Their death is awaiting confirmation while Barrister Femi Falana went to court to challenge the death sentence as an act of injustice.

However, with arms-gate scandal involving; Sambo Dasuki, Bafarawa, his son, Sagir, Raymond Dokpesi, and about 20 others running into billion of dollars meant for the procurement of weapons, which was never done, but rather the money was diverted into something else, "this shows the soldiers who protested for the non-availability of weapons to fight insurgency, to be on the path of truth", while their superior officers and all political elites that are involved as 'fraudsters, wicked, murderers, devilish and vampires.

The soldiers if not freed as of today, should regain their freedom now while criminals and vagabond  in power that are involved in the scandal, if found guilty should be killed under "swapping".
