Harry was attacked by some unidentified young men in Enugu on Friday December 11, 2015. According to his Instagram post, the men attacked his right leg with an axe.
It was a shock assassination attempt on the life of a Nollywood Actor Harry B. Anywanwu. Sources close to Anywanwu also confirmed the ugly development said, the actor was on his way back from a movie location last Friday (December 11, 2015) when he met a blockade mounted by suspected Cultists who were jubilating in pretense just to accomplish their evil plot.
Unaware of their intentions, the actor alighted from his car to exchange greetings with the boys whom he thought were his fans. He even dropped some money for them before turning back to return to his vehicle, when the suspected cultists dragged him and inflicted heavy machete cuts on him until they ensured his legs were cut off.
The source further reveal that the assailants specifically told him they were sent to Kill him due to his fast rising profile in Nollywood. Harry B Anywanwu also confirmed the incidence on his Instagram page.

"To all my noble fans, this is d reason 4 my sudden absence 4rm IG. I was brutally attacked last week friday (11 Dec. 2015) by some unscrupulous young men right here in Enugu (my own 042 ). To God b d glory I was lucky to survive d heinous onslaught, cos they chapped my right leg with an axe. Thanks to ur endless prayers & unprecedented support I am still alive today. One love Naija"
The actor who reportedly lost a leg to his assailants is currently at the Ortopedic hospital in Enugu where he has undergone series of surgeries.
