As usual in Nigeria, Lagos State just got the opportunity of having a fortunate teenager govern it for a day. 16-year-old Idowu Sonoiki emerged the ‘One-Day Governor’, after winning this year’s Spelling Bee competition. See more photos below;
He is also the first one day governor to be hosted by the 14th governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode.
Master Sonaiki the overall winner of the 2015 spelling Bee competition came with his cabinet members, including Deputy governor, Speaker, Secretary to his one day government and his commissioner for education.
He also brought to the fore some challenges facing his school, Ikotun Senior High school.
Master Idowu Ifeoluwa Sonoiki is from a humble background and he was accompanied by his father Mr. Rauf Sonoiki along with other family members and well wishers.
The Spelling Bee is a concept developed by New Era Foundation of Senator Oluremi Tinubu when her husband was governor of the state. It is aimed at developing the reading skills and word power of students in public primary and secondary schools in the state.
