The Ugandan Government has "denied" the existence of a secret programme to use computer spyware on its opponents.
A government spokesperson, Shaban Bantariza, said the purportedly classified document cited by Privacy International, a London-based advocacy group, isn't an authentic government document.
But an aide to the opposition leader Francis Mwijukye, said the report proved it was "time for Ugandans to say enough is enough."
Privacy International's report said FinFisher spyware was deployed against opponents of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni during protests in 2011.
