Mechanic Arraigned For Stealing Buses

A 29-year- old mechanic, Segun Moses, has been arraigned before an Oredo Magistrate Court for stealing two commercial buses given to him for repair.

The accused allegedly vandalised the two buses belonging to one Rev. Okotie Joshua and later sold them as spare parts for N70,000.

Police Prosecutor, ASP Sylvester Omor, told the court that the buses were worth N1million.

Omor said the accused committed the offence in January 31, 2014, in Urubi Street, Benin City, Edo State.

Moses pleaded not guilty to the two-count charges preferred against him.

The prosecutor said the offences were punishable Under Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 48 Vol. II Laws of the defunct Bendel of Nigeria 1976 as applicable in Edo.
