Robbers, today's morning stormed FESTAC Town, in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State, in military fatigue and raided three banks on 4th avenue in the area.
According to "The Vanguard", the heavily armed robbers who came via the canal in speed boats blew up the security doors of Diamond, Finbank and Access banks and carted away unspecified amount of money.
It was learned that the robbers announced their presence with sporadic shootings which sent everyone in the vicinity scampering to safety. Several persons were reported injured in the process.
Vanguard at the time of this report cannot ascertained if customers and staff of the affected banks were hurt during the operation. However, eyewitnesses said that the men of the underworld shot indiscriminately while they were been chased by the Police and youth in the area as they made good their escape.

According to the residents there was nobody who show face during the two hours of operation of the bandits, and also the Police did not show until the have gone a resident who met with the news broadcaster said.
A resident, who identified herself as Ify told that the sporadic gunshots frightened them such that they all went into hiding.
She said those doing their routine physical exercises along the road went into hiding.
“The road is empty at the moment. Everyone is hiding now. The gunshots were scary. They escaped through the canal and through 23 Road.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Joseph Offor, confirmed the incident, but said he could not give further information because policemen were still on the field.
My question is, "IS THIS HOW OUR POLICE FORCE WILL WORK AND NIGERIA WILL COME TO GLORY"?
