The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Permanent Secretary, Engr. John Obinna Chukwu, has condemned in strong terms, the multiple suicide bomb blasts in Kuje and Nyanya, suburbs of Abuja, which claimed at least 14 lives, late Friday.
Many were feared killed in the bomb blasts suspected to have been carried out by Islamist terrorists group, Boko Haram.
While also commiserating with the injured persons, the Permanent Secretary described the wanton destruction of lives and property as heartless and an act of wickedness on soft targets, which has “no place in our history and tradition.”
He assured that the FCT administration would continue to work closely with the security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property of all the residents of the Federal Capital Territory.
Chukwu prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured persons.
The Permanent Secretary however appealed to the residents of the FCT to be more vigilant and report any suspicious persons or movements to the law enforcement agents.
The FCT Police Commissioner, Mr. Wilson Inalegwu, also condemned the unfortunate act.
