Police Parades Four Suspected Kidnappers And Also Rescues Victim

     Four suspected kidnappers of the Afikpo Zonal Manager of Nigerian Breweries Limited, Mr. Kehinde Baruwa, were on Saturday paraded by the Ebonyi state Police Command in Abakaliki.


The victim was kidnapped on September 11 at the entrance to his street, off Ndibe Beach road Afikpo North local government area of the state.

Those paraded include one Gabriel Ibiam Otta from Afikpo, Ebonyi state; Tochukwu Okezie from Ubakala, in Umuahia South Local Government of Abia State; one Emeka Samson an okada rider whose motorcycle was used by the suspects.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Peace Ibekwe Abdalah while briefing journalists at the Command headquarters in Abakaliki, said the suspects had demanded N50million ransom from  Baruwa’s wife for the release of the victim which they later reduced to N300, 000 during negotiation.

However, on assumption of office, last week, in less than 24 hours that the Former Chairman of Nigerian Medical Association, Johnson Obunna was kidnapped by unknown gunmen, the new CP immediately swung into action and ensured the safety release of the kidnapped doctor.
