A Libyan court has sentenced Col Muammar Gaddafi's son, Saif al-Islam, and eight others to death over atrocities connected to the 2011 insurgency.
Although Saif al-Islam was not present in court, he was sentenced to death after been found guilty of his roles in the Libyan uprising.
He is being held by a previous radical gathering from the town of Zintan that declines to hand him over.
At least 30 close allies of the ousted president were on trial, blamed for stifling dissents amid the uprising.
Former head of intelligence for the Gaddafi regime, Abdullah al-Senussi, is among those also facing the death penalty.
