Nasarawa State Governor, Tanko Al-makura, has inaugurated a 10-man mining committee to reevaluate the exploration of mineral resources in the state.
The inauguration is sequel to the commencement of the process of increased Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) through the exploration of mineral resources in the state.
Governor Al-makura inaugurated the committee on Tuesday in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, North-central region of Nigeria.
Both Governor Al-makura and the committee Chairman, Mr Isah Bukar, have agreed on a three weeks deadline, to enable the committee compile a comprehensive list and policy guide for the sector that had been neglected over the years.
The inaugurated committee is also expected to maximize income potential from the exploration sector to augment revenue accruing to the state.
