The death toll from a boat mishap in the Nile, north of Egypt's capital city Cairo has risen to 22, according to a local newspaper.
Privately-run al-Watan newspaper reported on Thursday that five people were rescued while the search for 10 others believed to be missing is ongoing.
The boat which had 35 people on board, sank off the district of al-Waraq in Giza on Wednesday after it was struck by a barge, eyewitnesses said.
The Interior Ministry had said 15 people drowned and six were rescued in the accident.
Public transport accidents are common in Egypt mainly due to lack of safety standards.
Angry families of the victims converged near a police station in al-Waraq, chanting anti-government slogans, state-run newspaper al-Ahram reported online.
