Alison-Madueke Offers US$250m To Buhari As Refund

Diezani Alison-Madueke, the former minister of petroleum resources, has allegedly offered a generous refund to the federal government in order to receive immunity from prosecution and investigation of any kind.

According to a report by Sahara Reporters, the offered sum equals at least $250 million dollars. Its correspondent also learnt that President Buhari is not in a position to accept any compensation.

An insider source at the presidential villa revealed that the ex-minister is counting on Governor Nasir
El-Rufai to assist her in negotiations with the president. However, a positive outcome is unlikely:

“Mr President considers the $250 million as ridiculous considering the amount of money Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke is suspected to have diverted into her pocket and those of others,” an unnamed APC member told the journalist.

Alison-Madueke’s alleged move can perhaps be explained by the upcoming meeting between the US Attorney General Loretta Lynch and President Buhari during his visit to the USA.
