Nigeria's main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party has raised alarm over an alleged plot by the Nigerian police to detain deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu.
The party's publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh who made this known in a chat with pressmen in Abuja, says this is part of moves to impeach him.
Ekweremadu is to meet with police authority at the force headquarters on Monday over a petition written by some aggrieved senators of the APC
They accuse him of altering the Senate Rules which led to the emergence of the leadership of the upper chamber.
